Who doesn’t like family gatherings or friends get together? It feels incredible when we can be with those who are close to us after a long time. It often happens that as a host to the brunch or party or a weekend gateway with our group, we get confused about how to engage everyone. As there are people from different age groups and generations, we need to develop an idea of a game that can be played and enjoyed by everyone.
One such game is “Who am I,” or you can say “What am I?”. All you need are the theme cards you can stick on a person’s forehead or his/ her back. If the theme is already decided, you can get the printable cards just with your finger’s swipe. It would help if you got the printouts. We’ve prepared a printable list of Who/What am I? game words for kids as well as adults with pdf for absolutely free. Download from the links given below.
How to play “Who/What am I”?
The game is straightforward. Thus anyone can play it from a kindergarten kid to our Grandpa. This is what makes this game pretty memorable and unique. Now before you start playing directly, first think about the theme about which everyone is familiar. For instance, a common theme could be “Famous Fictional Characters of all time,” or the simplest one could be “Animals.”
Once the common theme is decided, you need to get the “Who am I” cards for the same. So if the category is “Animals,” then the “Who am I” guess list would include “King Cobra,” “Blue Whale,” etc.
Now you can either play it one by one, or you can stick all the eight cards behind (or on the forehead) eight players. These players will have to ask others who he/ she is. The catch here is that you can only ask in the form of “Yes/No” questions. For example,” Am I James Bond?” or “Do I use a gun?” You can only ask 20 questions. Those who guess is correct by asking the least number of Yes/No questions wins the game.
If you prefer to play multiple rounds with different categories, you might need to maintain a scoreboard. This will help you to declare a final winner at the end of the game.
This game is one of the ice breakers, especially when people wish to mingle with ease. If everyone is a Marvel fan at your party, you can also go for the Marvel theme. The cards could have famous Marvel Characters like Thanos, Iron Man, Hulk, Loki, Human Torch, etc. Just imagine how much fun it would be for Marvel comic lovers.
Moreover, this is also one of the best games for kids’ especially in kindergarten or for anyone who wishes to enhance their vocabulary. So if you are planning to learn a new language, you can make it much more fun by converting it into a “What am I” game. You do not have to worry about the guess cards. We are there for you.
